Fees And The Client Relationship
Our experience with other law firms has led to the development of a supported three-stage programme that we will adapt to fit with your competencies relating to practice management.
Most importantly, we know that all lawyers intellectually understand what is involved, but so many have problems putting it into practice and look to find all kinds of reasons for non-performance.
• Understanding the firms finances
• Managing Lockup
• What exactly is WIP? And is it really such a bad thing?
• Understanding client payment terms: “How can payment in 30 days mean we wait for 75 days?”
• The impact on your business of slow paying clients
• How to call a client without feeling like you are chasing them
• Understanding your personal reports
• Managing the financial aspect of your career as a lawyer
• Team results – how does the department compare?
• Reduced WIP
• Improved debt management
• More open client relationships
• Increased recovery and profitability
• Better understanding of the firms financial measures
Each team who needs the programme is taken as a group and put through the programme (consisting of three half day workshops over four months) with results being monitored on an individual basis.
We report to your Finance Director after each programme on progress and highlight any weaknesses discovered after the programme has run. This report will cover not only the departments trained but general issues that we believe will impact on performance, from gearing, to motivation.
